To enter into the throw, break Uke’s left hand grasp
of your gi by pulling down sharply with your right hand. As Uke moves in
to regain his grasp of your gi, pull hard with your left hang again
Uke’s right lapel. At the same time you being your pull with your left
hand, force Uke’s left arm across his body with your right hand and turn
sharply to your left.
Insert your hip so that you are preventing Uke from coming forward any
further. As this is a hip throw, your hips are used to lift Uke from the
mat in order to throw. |

To execute the throw, continue to twist to your left.
As you do, raise your hips so that Uke is lifted from the mat. Continue
to pull down and around towards your left so that Uke is pulled over
your hip and lands on the mat in front of you. This is often executed as
a left side Seoi Nage or Tai Otoshi from a right side grip. |
