KUZUSHI |

| |
Push Uke lightly to his hidari ushiro sumi with both
hands, so that he must push back to retain his balance. As he pushes
back, lightly pull Uke's right sleeve with your left hand, while
stepping back with your left foot and placing it behind your own right
foot. Lead Uke to advance his right foot a little more than usual. |

TSUKURI |
|
| |
At the instant his right foot is about to touch the
mat - but has not yet done so - reap his right leg from the inside with
your right foot, keeping your weight on your own left foot. You should
apply the sole of your right foot to his right heel, and reap in the
direction in which his toes are pointing.
TIP: Do not reap Uke’s heel upward, but forward so the little
toe edge of your foot rubs the mat. |

KAKE |
|
| |
Assist this reap by continuing to pull Uke around to
your left and driving Uke's lapel straight backward with your right
hand. If the throw is well done, both of Uke’s legs will be raised in
the air on either side of you as he falls backwards in front of you. You
may even find yourself falling across the inside of Uke's right thigh as
you fall with Uke. |
