Draw Uke towards you with your left hand pulling
strongly against Uke’s right sleeve. Your right hand will lift Uke’s
lapel as you step in with your right foot. You should be facing the
same direction Uke at this point with Uke behind you and slightly toward
your right. |

Bring your right leg along side of Uke’s leg so that
the back of your leg is touching the front of Uke’s right leg from your
hips down to your calf. Your left hand should pull forward strongly so
that Uke is brought in close contact to your back. Release your right
hand grip of Uke’s lapel and twist strongly towards your left. Bring
your right arm over Uke’s head and trap his right arm under your armpit.
As you continue to twist toward your left, sweep your right leg up so
that Uke is lifted by your sweeping leg.
Combined with your twisting motion, the pull of your hands should bring
Uke is close contact with you from your knee to your shoulder. |

KAKE |

To execute the throw, continue to twist to your left,
sweep your right leg backward so that Uke's hips rise from the mat
leaving Uke no contact with it. As you do, Uke’s feet will leave the
mat. Lower your right shoulder to the mat which will offer Uke no option
but to fall on the mat just off your right shoulder. This is because you
have wrapped or wound Uke around you and left no space for Uke to create
an escape. |
